‘Nature is the greatest artist’ is part workshop, part walk, part exhibition- curated by its participants – inspired by local nature.

Workshop details

Nature is the greatest artist (and so are you) is part workshop, part walk, part exhibition- curated and shaped by its participants – inspired by local nature in Bath. In this experience we’ll collect photo images of nature and then – curate them into a small exhibition that will be projected over their curator. Through this series we hope to connect people to nature as their collaborator, conversation partner and creative inspiration.

Guided by the team at Creative Quests.

The grounding for a walk will be a short playful workshop where participants will express their different connections and feelings toward the natural world. We’ll think about why nature is an incredible, innovative artist – and how it expresses itself.

We’ll then do a guided walk to a couple of different locations where participants will be encouraged to notice where they think nature is being a particularly good artist. Each participant will collect 3 images. Which we will take a photo of for the exhibition.

Each participant will then be encouraged to think of a name for their collection of images and write a short ‘curators statement’ on what they love about their images and nature’s artistry in the selections.

Finally – Back at our base – likely after a small editing break – we will load up our collection of images and project onto a white sheet. Each participant will be invited to take to a podium in front of the sheet (so their images are being projected over them too – making them a part of nature) and introduce their collection and read their artist statement.
